Ruth Okal

Ruth Okal is currently the Assistant General Manager of ILAM Fahari I-REIT, she is a distinguished leader in Kenya’s real estate and capital markets. She was pivotal in establishing the country’s first listed REITs following the 2013 regulations and continues to shape the sector’s landscape through her roles as a gazetted Member of the Land Acquisition Tribunal and Chair of the Association’s Policy, Research, and Publications Committee.

Ruth brings extensive governance experience, having served as Vice Chairperson of the Valuers Registration Board and as a long-standing examiner at the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK). Her deep expertise is backed by a Bachelor’s in Land Economics and a Master’s in Valuation and Property Management from the University of Nairobi, alongside her professional designations as a CFA charter- holder, Registered Valuer, and Registered Estate Agent.

Her appointment reinforces the Association’s commitment to principled governance and professional excellence, and we look forward to the strategic insight she will bring to the board.
