Peter M. Waiyaki is a Partner at Mboya Wangong’u & Waiyaki, Advocates. He oversees Strategy and Development at the Firm as well as the Commercial Dispute Resolution Practice Group. He is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a member of the Law Society of Kenya, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Institute of Certified Secretaries. He is also a Certified Corporate Governance Auditor.

Peter is a seasoned commercial and corporate lawyer who has continually been ranked as a Top Commercial Lawyer by Chambers Global for over two decades. He has vast and deep knowledge in commercial transactions, mergers & acquisitions and capital markets transactions. He also represents commercial clients in court, arbitration, and quasi-judicial tribunals, both in Kenya and internationally.

He is passionate about REITs and is a proven authority in the field. He is a regular speaker and writer on REITs–related matters and has been a legal advisor in the setting up, registration and listing of REITs, including having been the legal advisor in the establishment of the Stanlib Fahari I-REIT (now ILAM I-REIT).

His clients include banks, fund managers, investment banks, real estate developers and REITs.
