2018 Inaugural REITs Conference

About

The inaugural REITs conference themed ‘’REITs – Unlocking the Potential of the New Investment Frontier Opportunity in Kenya’’, was held in September 2018, at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Upper hill, Nairobi. The conference brought together over 250 delegates from various sectors, with the keynote speech being given by Honorable James Macharia, the Cabinet Secretary for Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development. International speakers present included: Michael Grupe, immediate Vice President of Research and Investment Opportunities at NAREIT, Andrew Brooking, a corporate finance executive at Java Capital and Fred Cooper, the Senior Vice President at Toll Brothers. 

One of the key gaps that the REITs Association of Kenya (RAK) seeks to bridge is educating the market on the features, benefits and diversity that REITs provide. It is with this objective in mind that the Association conceived the National REIT conference.

 The Conference will host Global Thought Leaders such as:

1. Michael Grupe - Immediate Past; Executive Vice President of Research &Investor Outreach, US NAREIT
2. Frederick Cooper - Senior Vice President-Finance, International Development & Investor Relations of Toll Brothers, Inc (A fortune 500 US Home Builder)
3. Andrew Brooking - Founding Director of Java Capital in South Africa.

The key topics discussed in the Conference included:
